A mild tremor of 4.3 magnitude shook the Andaman and Nicobar Islands early on Thursday morning, according to the National Center for Seismology.
The quake occurred at 4.17 am and had a depth of 61 km, the agency said.
No casualties or damages were reported as a result of the quake.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are located in the Alpine-Himalayan seismic belt, which is one of the most earthquake-prone regions in the world.
