Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ event on Sunday (November 24) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, an official announced on Saturday.
PM Modi is scheduled to address the gathering at approximately 5:30 p.m. during the event.
Odisha Parba is the flagship event of Odia Samaj, a Delhi-based trust dedicated to preserving and promoting Odia heritage, according to a statement.
“This year, Odisha Parba is being held from November 22 to 24, continuing its tradition of showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Odisha. The event will feature vibrant cultural performances, exhibitions, and a National Seminar or Conclave led by prominent experts and distinguished professionals from various fields,” the statement added.
On Saturday, President Droupadi Murmu graced the Odisha Parba 2024 in Delhi, along with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
Speaking at the event, President Murmu emphasized the significance of Odisha Parba in raising awareness about the state’s rich art, literature, dance, music, and cuisine. She commended the stakeholders for consistently organizing the event in Delhi for the past decade.
“The President highlighted that the Kalinga War transformed ‘Chandashoka’ into ‘Dharmashoka,’ teaching us that peace is vital for progress. As some parts of the world face conflicts, the history of the Kalinga War can serve as a guide toward peace,” the statement noted.
President Murmu also praised Odisha’s culture of tolerance, urging citizens to live harmoniously and contribute to the growth of both India and Odisha with affection and dedication.
