PM Narendra Modi to Visit landslides-hit areas in Wayanad today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Wayanad in Kerala today, August 10, to assess the situation in the areas affected by the recent landslides. The landslides, triggered by heavy rains, have claimed the lives of at least 256 people and left several hundred injured.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will review the relief and rehabilitation efforts underway in the affected areas. He will also meet with the families of the victims and assess the damage caused by the landslides.

The Prime Minister’s visit comes as the rescue operations are still underway, with teams deployed across multiple locations in Wayanad, where landslides claimed lives and left many others missing. The Indian Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and local emergency teams have launched a coordinated search and rescue operation to find people feared to be trapped under the rubble.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is the Member of Parliament from Wayanad, has been actively involved in the relief efforts. He has been visiting the affected areas and helping with the rescue operations.

The Kerala government has also been working tirelessly to provide aid and support to the affected people. The government has set up relief camps and is providing food, shelter, and medical aid to those in need.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Wayanad is seen as a move to boost the morale of the people affected by the landslides and to assure them of the government’s support in this difficult time.
