Prithvi-II missile successfully tested-fired in Odisha Coast

“A well-established system, the Prithvi-II missile was an integral part of India’s nuclear deterrent. The missile hit its target with high accuracy,” the defense ministry said in a statement.

India on Tuesday successfully test-fired the Prithvi-II tactical ballistic missile from a test range off the Odisha coast.

The Ministry of Defense said the missile hit its target with “high accuracy”.

“A successful practice launch of the Prithvi-II short-range ballistic missile was conducted on January 10 from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off Odisha coast,” it said.

“A well-established system, the Prithvi-II missile was an integral part of India’s nuclear deterrent. The missile hit its target with high accuracy,” the ministry said in a statement.

It said the “user training launch” successfully confirmed all operational and technical parameters of the missile.

The Prithvi-II missile has a range of around 350 kilometers.
