AMRITSAR : An elderly Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri was shot dead by an unidentified man during a protest in Amritsar city on Friday.
The deceased leader has been identified as Sudhir Suri.
The suspected gunman open fire in presence of Punjab Police officials and fled from the spot. This shooting took place in Sidhu Moosewala style.
The incident took place outside Gopal Mandir on Majitha Road, one of the busiest places in the city, where Suri and some other leaders of the party were holding a protest, they said.
Police officials stated, more than five shots were fired at Suri after which he fell down and lost consciousness. He was immediately taken to a hospital where he succumbed to bullet injuries, they said.
