US President Donald Trump on Sunday shared a video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interview with computer scientist and podcaster Lex Fridman on his social media platform, Truth Social.
PM Modi spoke on an array of subjects in the interview, including artificial intelligence (AI), cricket, football, as well as his views on China, Pakistan, and his formative years.
The prime minister praised President Trump’s unwavering dedication to his country, particularly after the assassination attempts on his life. “Even after being shot, he remained unwaveringly dedicated to America. His life was for his nation” the PM said.
Drawing parallels between Trump’s “America First” ideology and his own “India First” approach, PM Modi emphasized their shared commitment to prioritizing their nations’ interests.
Recalling their memorable meeting at the “Howdy Modi” event in Houston in 2019, PM Modi highlighted Trump’s humility. “The President of the United States sitting in the audience while I spoke from the stage—that was a remarkable gesture on his part,” PM Modi said.
After the speech, PM Modi invited Trump to take a lap around the stadium with him to greet the Indian diaspora. Despite strict security protocols, Trump agreed, demonstrating mutual trust and respect.
PM Modi described the moment as “truly touching,” noting that Trump trusted him enough to walk into a crowd of thousands without hesitation. “It showed me that this man had courage,” he added.
PM Modi also appreciated Trump’s continued kindness, highlighting that even after his first term ended, Trump would often say, “Modi is my friend, convey my regards.”
Additionally, the prime minister praised Trump’s preparedness and clear vision for his second term. “This time, he seems far more prepared than before,” PM Modi remarked.
PM Modi met US President Donald Trump during his visit to the US in March. He also met influential figures like Elon Musk, US Vice President JD Vance, and Tulsi Gabbard, highlighting a warm and friendly meeting with Musk, who was accompanied by his family.
