Justice Pritinker Diwaker To Be Sworn In As Allahabad HC Chief Justice

Prayagraj: Justice Pritinker Diwaker will be sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court on Sunday.


He will be sworn in by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel In an announcement on March 24, President Droupadi Murmu appointed Justice Diwaker as the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court with effect from the date he assumes office.

Until now, Justice Diwaker was working as the Acting Chief Justice of the court.

Justice Diwaker was born on 22 November 1961 and graduated from Durgawati University, Jabalpur. He was originally admitted as an advocate in 1984. During his legal career, he dealt with constitutional, civil, and criminal matters.

He has also worked as standing counsel for SAIL, SBI, Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank, Bank of Baroda, and IDBI among others.

He was appointed Senior Advocate by the Chhattisgarh High Court in January 2005. He was a member of the Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council for seven years and a member of the Chhattisgarh State Bar Council for five years.

He was subsequently elevated as a judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court on 31 March 2009. He was later transferred to the Allahabad High Court on 3 October 2018 and appointed as its Acting Chief Justice on 13 February 2023.
