Lall & Sethi (L&S) emerged as the champions of the Society Of Indian Law Firms (SILF) -TURF Cricket League 2023, after defeating Dua Associates (DLL) by 17 runs in a nail-biting final on Sunday.
L&S posted a competitive total of 154/6 in 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant knock of 48 by Mahender Singh Rawat, who was later adjudged the Man of the Series for his consistent performance throughout the tournament. DLL fought hard in their chase, but were bowled out for 137 in 19.2 overs, as L&S’s bowlers held their nerve in the crucial moments.
The final was witnessed by a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters, who cheered for their respective teams and created a festive atmosphere at the venue. L&S’s captain, Rajesh Sethi, dedicated the victory to their loyal fans, whom he called their “turbochargers”. He said, “This win belongs to our turbochargers, our fantastic supporters! Your cheers resonated with our determination, powering us through this incredible journey. We are grateful for your love and support, and we hope to make you proud again in the future.”
The SILF-TURF Cricket League 2023 was organised by Turf Sports Management, a leading sports event management company, in association with SILF, the apex body of law firms in India.
The tournament aimed to provide a platform for law firms to showcase their cricketing talent, as well as to foster camaraderie and networking among the legal fraternity. The tournament featured 16 teams from various law firms, who competed in a round-robin format, followed by knock-out stages.
The organiser’s chairman, Sachin Khurana, congratulated L&S for their splendid performance, and also appreciated the efforts of all the participating teams. He said, “We are delighted to witness such a high level of cricketing skills and sportsmanship among the law firms.
