Afghanistan: Deadly blast hits mosque in Darul Aman, Kabul

A bomb blast last minute at the Khalifa Sahib Mosque in Darul Aman, west of Kabul, Afghanistan’s capital.

The explosion allegedly took place while there was a large crowd inside the mosque.

It is the 11th terrorist attack in Afghanistan in the past 10 days.

In today’s blast, a Sufi mosque / Khanqah in the Kabul region of Darul Aman was attacked during a church service.

The death toll is expected to be “huge.”

According to some reports, the roof of the mosque collapsed due to an explosion.

A nurse at a neighboring hospital, who did not want to be named, said the incident had left a number of injured people in critical condition.

In recent weeks, a number of Afghan civilians have been killed in a series of bombings, some of which are called Islamic State.

Since taking office in August, Afghan Taliban rulers claimed to have defended the country and in particular overthrown the Islamic State, but international officials and analysts feared that the military might return.

A number of Shia religious groups have been targeted for numerous attacks, but Sunni mosques have also been targeted.

The latest attack took place on a Muslim holy Friday, the last day of the month of Ramadan in which most Muslims fast and before the Eid religious holiday next week.
