New Delhi: Veteran musician and composer Bappi Lahiri passed away on Tuesday night. The famous singer has breathed his last in CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai. He was 69 years old.
“Lahiri was hospitalized for a month and was released on Monday. But her health deteriorated on Tuesday. Her family called a doctor to visit them. the director of the hospital, told PTI.
Bappi Lahiri who was affectionately nicknamed Bappi Da in the industry is known for bringing famous songs to several films in the late 1970s-80s such as Chalte Chalte, Disco Dancer, and Sharaabi. His last Bollywood song was Bhankas for the 2020 film Baaghi 3. The singer-songwriter, a common man with many gold chains of trademarks he wore with his fortune and sunglasses.
In his last post on Instagram, the celebrity shared his old photo captioning ‘Old is Gold’.
She also shared a photo of herself with veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar when the latest one died on February 6. Taking her Instagram handle on Sunday, Lahiri shared a white photo of herself as a boy, sitting on Instagram’s lap. the icon is late. In the text, she wrote, “Maa!”
Mangeshkar has been a strong supporter of Lahiri since entering the music industry. He sang his first song in the Bengali film ‘Daadu’. Lahiri’s first big Bollywood Lahiri episode was a song by Aamir Khan’s father Tahir Hussain ‘Zakhmee’. In it Mangeshkar sang ‘Abhi Abhi Thi Dushmani’ and ‘Ao Tujhe Chand Pe Le Jaaon’. The music for both songs was composed by Bappi Lahiri and became one of the best songs of all time.
The singer was admitted to hospital last year after being diagnosed with coronavirus. However, Bappi Lahiri recovered quickly from the infection and was released from the hospital within a few days. “Despite many safety precautions, unfortunately, Bappi Lahiri was diagnosed with Covid 19.
