But the Coronation Street couple receive bad news next week ahead of their big day. How will they react?

The Weatherfield vicar played by Daniel Brocklebank is trying his best to give Paul (Peter Ash) some happy memories before time runs out as he slowly loses his mobility.
After rekindling their relationship, the lovebirds decided to take their relationship to the next level and both are getting ready to walk down the aisle.
Throughout his MND ordeal, Paul has also received the support of a woman named Shelly who was suffering from the disease just like him.
But in a devastating twist, Shelly was found deceased in her home during recent scenes aired on ITV.
Coming up next week on the Manchester-based drama, Billy conducts Shelly’s funeral, but when Paul stands to say a few words, Shelly’s brother objects.
Paul rails at Kieran for failing to support his sister when she was dying.
Kieran’s furious and as the two men tussle, Paul accidentally smacks Billy in the face.
While Billy may be understanding and put down Paul’s gesture to his complete loss of mobility control, the couple are hit with a devastating bombshell which will directly impact their wedding ceremony.
In later scenes, Billy and Paul meet up with the Registrar to go over their wedding plans.
When Paul requests “Oh Happy Day” for their exit music, he’s gutted as the Registrar explains they’re not allowed religious music at a civil ceremony.
Billy and Paul have no other option but to get married in a civil ceremony as the Church of England still forbids same-sex weddings in a church.

With Paul’s time running out, one could speculate the pair will travel in an attempt to have their dream ceremony.
The UK Parliament states online that “the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church in England conduct same-sex weddings, as do the Anglican—or Episcopal—Church in Scotland, the established Church of Scotland, and several other provinces of the global Anglican communion.”
Could this encourage Billy and Paul to elope?
