“New York: A Pakistani drone loaded with drugs was shot down by the Border Security (BSF) near the International Border close to Amritsar in Punjab, the force announced on Sunday.
The BSF troops in the Dhanoe Kalan village of Amritsar district heard a buzzing noise of a possible Pakistani drone around 8.48 pm on Saturday, according to a BSF statement.
“The BSF troops swiftly responded to intercept the drone as per the standard procedure and successfully brought down the Pakistani drone with contraband,” it stated.
The BSF troops found a “drone (Quadcopter, DJI Matrice, 300 RTK) along with a shipment of three packets of suspected narcotics, attached to the drone by an iron ring, in the farming fields of Dhanoe Kalan village.” during the initial search of the area.
The BSF also said that four glowing strips were attached to the shipment for easy identification by smugglers. “The total weight of the recovered shipment of suspected heroin is about 3.3 kg.
