Centre seeks report from West Bengal Govt on the violence during Ram Navami in Howrah

The Centre has asked for a comprehensive report from the West Bengal government on the incidents of violence that occurred during Ram Navami celebrations in Howrah last week, sources said.

The move comes after Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Governor C V Ananda Bose and reviewed the situation in the state, especially in areas affected by violence.

According to sources, the Centre has asked the West Bengal government to provide details of the clashes that took place on Ram Navami in Howrah.

The violence erupted between two groups during a procession on March 30. Several vehicles were set on fire and shops were looted in the area, police said.
