According to eagle-eyed bargain hunters, the high street retailer is currently getting rid of existing stock to prepare the stores nationwide for the festive season ahead.

This means that the shelves are now full of cheap finds, some of which are scanning for just pennies – and shoppers are going totally wild over the deals.

One such lucky customer, Leah, took to social media to inform fellow money-saving M&S fans about the sale.

All chuffed with her massive haul, she said: ”I found out like an hour ago from TikTok that there’s like an M&S clearance sale going on.

”Apparently it’s because they’re getting rid of old stock and putting their Christmas stuff out.”

Although Leah presumed it would be going on for a while, she also urged to be quick, saying the cheap finds would most likely ”be gone within 24 hours”.

”There wasn’t loads by the time I got there but everything is under 30p.

”So yeah, head down,” she advised in the video.

Whilst shopping and snapping up the goodies, Leah managed to get her hands on some real bargains, including an orange cookie for a mere 10p, a burger for 21p, a packet of sweets for 42p, yogurt rice cakes scanning at 24p and other bits.

The sale has taken all social media platforms by a storm, with numerous foodies showing off their piles of grub, including one mum who nabbed £200 of food for just £20.

Another shopper, Rachael Lukenebs Chilcott, from Swansea, took to Facebook to share just how much she went home with for a little over £8.

Her haul, the post on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group showed, included heaps of chocolate breakfast bars, chai teabags, salt and vinegar chiplets, four packets of green tea, eight sachets of seasoning and more.

Fellow members of the popular page raced to comments, where many tagged their pals and family to let them know about the news.

One reckoned: ”Ok if you need lots of biscuits and crisps I suppose, good bargain then but not if you are buying just because they’re on offer.”

Someone else penned: ”M&S all food departments (not franchise sites I think ) are doing this to some extent to make way for Halloween and Christmas stock.

”What they have in each store may differ slightly most have quite good sell by dates on them.”
