The active Covid infections in India rose to 49,622 with 11,109 new cases reported today. This is the highest daily count in over seven months, as per the data from the Union health ministry.
The country also saw 29 deaths, taking the total fatalities to 5,31,064. The data showed that Delhi and Rajasthan had three deaths each, while Chhattisgarh and Punjab had two each.
