BEFORE the Christmas season approaches, families with school-aged children have one last chance to enjoy a staycation.
There are plenty of deals still available to book over the October half-term, with prices starting from £7pp a night – which is less than cinema tickets.

According to statistics, the average cinema ticket costs £7.69 in the UK – and that obviously excludes all of your snacks.
So you could spend £7pp a night and head on a staycation instead.
This year, the half-term holidays should run from October 23 until October 27.
However, it is always best to check with the school and local council before booking.
For instance, schools in Scotland have an early holiday structure, while the rest of England and Wales begin their breaks a week later.
Most holiday parks included give you access to indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sports, bike rentals, entertainment and on-site restaurants.
The biggest bargain we’ve found comes from Pontins, with four-night breaks of £119 per stay.
The deal works out at just over £7 per person a night.
Haven holiday parks also have some good deals during the half-term, all under £300 per stay.

- Quay West, South Wales – from £78 per stay
- Cleethorpes Beach, Lincolnshire – from £85 per stay
- Riviere Sands, Cornwall – from £132 per stay

- Devon Cliffs, Devon – from £122 per stay
We’ve also found deals on four-night stays, departing on October 24:
- Reighton Sands, Yorkshire – from £145 per stay
- Combe Haven, Sussex – from £193 per stay
- Quay West, South Wales – from £132 per stay
- Cleethorpes Beach, Lincolnshire – from £139 per stay
- Riviere Sands, Cornwall – from £182 per stay
Park Holidays UK also has some good deals on three-night stays:
- Seawick Nr Clacton-on-Sea, Essex – from £179 per stay
- Sand le Mere Tunstall, Yorkshire – from £129 per stay
- Broadland Sands Lowestoft, Suffolk – £149 per stay
Away Resorts has nine holiday parks in the UK, they provide a variety of self-catering options with central heating and double glazing, so you’ll be nice and warm, while some come with private hot tubs.

- Four nights at Cleethorpes Pearl, Lincolnshire – from £243 per stay
More holiday parks and renting companies offer good deals for the October half-term, including Snaptrip and Sykes Cottages.
Here are the best deals we’ve found during the half-term:

- 4 nights in Yr Wyddfa Cottage – from £271 per stay
If you’re looking for a hotel stay, Travelodge has rooms from £75 per night – even in London.
Premier Inn has rooms from £17pp a night, and there are a number of hotels near theme parks too.
If you’re after a mid-week stay instead, we found the best child-friendly UK breaks where kids eat for free, and deals start from £6pp a night.
And Haven has cheap Halloween stays from £8pp a night.
While Legoland also launched a Halloween party with overnight stays, park entry and freebies from £57pp.
