The air ambulance was also pictured after landing on Clinton Gardens, a plot of land nearby.

It’s understands the house on the road was under renovation.

It’s not known whether the wall said to be involved was inside the house or outside.

In a statement, GMP said: “At around 2.50pm today, officers were called to reports of concerns for welfare of a man at an address on Lloyd Street, Manchester.

“It was established that a man in his 40s was involved in a workplace accident and despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing at this stage.”

Lloyd Street South crosses Platt Lane and runs parallel to Princess Road from Claremont Road.

It’s understood the house involved on the road is close to the junction with Parkside Road, near the old Parkside Hotel pub.

Witnesses at the scene reported a large emergency service presence on Saturday afternoon, with a cordon in place on the road and a screen put up outside the house involved.
