NTA Extends CUET-UG Exam Dates Due to High Demand

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the CUET-UG exam dates will be extended by four days or more to accommodate the large number of applicants in some cities.

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG, which is in its second edition, is planned to take place from May 21-31.

Sadhana Parashar, Senior Director (Exams), NTA, said that due to the high demand of candidates in certain cities, the CUET exam will also be held on June 1-2 and June 5-6.

She added that June 7 and 8 are reserved as backup days. She also said that the NTA will soon issue the City Intimation Slip for these extra days.

The City Intimation Slip is not the same as the admit card, the NTA clarified.

Parashar explained that these slips are meant to inform the candidates about the city where their exam centre will be located. The admit cards will be released later, she said.

The CUET-UG has received nearly 14 lakh applications this year, which is a 41 per cent increase from last year’s first edition.

The CUET-UG is the second-largest entrance exam in India in terms of the number of applicants. Last year, 12.50 lakh students registered for the CUET-UG and 9.9 lakh completed their applications.
