RUSSELL BRAND’S alleged predatory behaviour towards women was an “open secret” among senior TV and radio executives, the probe claims.
BBC and Channel 4 bosses were said to have turned a blind eye while female comedians allegedly warned each other about him.
Brand denies any wrongdoing.
The Sunday Times said it found that in his early years at Channel 4, researchers and runners were asked to approach female audience members so he could meet them after filming.
Two former crew members alleged they were made to feel like they were working as a “pimp” for him.
One runner, who was then 24, said Brand flashed at her in a dressing-room.
Brand has denied any wrongdoing, saying in a YouTube statement on that there “are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute”.
He added: “The relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual.””
Brand went on to work for the BBC. In the “Sachsgate” scandal in 2008, he and his Radio 2 co-host Jonathan Ross made prank calls to late Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs.
In a lewd message, Brand hinted at a relationship with Sachs’s granddaughter, Georgina Baillie.
The BBC was fined £150,000 by Ofcom.
Channel 4 said it was “appalled to learn of these deeply troubling allegations” and would investigate.

He went out with Moss and her pal Sadie Frost in 2006, and dated several Big Brother contestants.
Not everyone was impressed by his bravado, with Dannii Minogue labelling him a “vile predator”.
Katy Perry appeared to tame Brand after they wed in 2010, the year he met Prince Charles at a showbiz bash.
They divorced in 2012 and she later claimed he couldn’t handle her power.
Russell went on to date Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and heiress Jemima Khan.
In 2015 he rekindled a romance with Laura Gallacher, now 36. They wed in 2017 and are expecting their third child.
