AUSTRALIAN singer and songwriter Sia is known for hiding her face behind elaborate wigs on stage.
Fans of the Chandelier singer want to know more about her life offstage – especially when it comes to her ex-husband, Erik Anders Lang.
Who is Sia’s ex-husband, Erik Anders Lang?
Erik Anders Lang is a documentary filmmaker who discovered his love for the profession through photography.
Erik worked as protégé of Dave Chapelle and has successful documentaries and behind-the-scenes content for major companies such as Louis Vuitton, Hollister, Honda, and MTV.
Lang has also directed music videos for the likes of Moby, Escondido, and DA & The Jones.
The filmmaker began to run his own production company Pictures, Pictures, which he created in 2016.
Does Erik Anders Lang play golf?
Erik is an avid golf lover and since August 2017 has been the Chief Executive Officer of Random Golf Club.
He even directed and starred in a string of commercials for Vice Golf which have been broadcast on national television for The Golf Channel.
In a Q&A with FORE Magazine in January 2019, Erik admitted he fell in love with the sport after his brother introduced him to it.
“My brother, Christopher, got me into it. I fell in love with it immediately,” he shared. “I was obsessed and fascinated. And almost immediately started looking for a way to point a camera at it.”
When was Erik Anders Lang married to Sia?
Sia and Erik tied the knot at her home in Palm Springs, California, in August 2014, just two months after the Aussie revealed she was engaged.
But after just two years of marriage, in December 2016, Sia announced she and Erik were no longer together.
The Grammy-award-winning singer had kept her relationship private for the most part, and despite being separated, People revealed the pair would remain friends.
At the time, her rep shared a statement that read: “After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple.
“We are, however, dedicated to remaining friends. There will be no further comment.”
Nearly 10 years later, on September 13, 2023, Sia opened up about her divorce in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1.
“I got divorced and that really threw me for a loop,” she said. “That was such a dark time that I was in bed for three years, really, really severely depressed. And so I couldn’t really do anything for that period of time.”
Her upcoming album, Reasonable Woman, is expected to drop sometime in spring 2024 – marking her first album release in eight years.
As of May 2023, Sia is married to Dan Bernard.
