Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung attended the opening of the Pacific Prosperity Exhibit Aug. 28 in Koror, Palau, held prior to the 55th Pacific Islands Forum.
Palau President Surangel S. Whipps Jr., Japanese Ambassador to Palau Kenichi Kasahara, Australian Ambassador to Palau Toby Sharpe, and U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Shankar Rao were also present at the event, the MOFA said.
The exhibit presented results of cooperative digital resilience, infrastructure, low carbon energy, smart agriculture and medicine as well as social empowerment projects with Australia, Japan, Palau, the U.S. and Pacific allies through immersive and interactive technology.
Lin noted that Taiwan supports the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent advocated by the forum. He added that Taiwan is enthusiastic about sharing its responses to the challenges of climate change, digital and energy transition with Pacific nations.
Lin added that under the framework of integrated diplomacy, the government has actively promoted the Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project incorporating civic, interministerial and industrial resources. Taiwan also addresses the needs of allies and like-minded partners in agriculture, digital governance, energy, medicine, technology and sustainable development.
Taiwan will continue to be a reliable partner in the Pacific region by actively engaging in regional cooperation and dialogue for a more resilient, prosperous and sustainable future. (POC-E)
