Minister of Foreign Affairs Lin Chia-lung hosted a reception for ally Tuvalu’s Minister for Transport, Energy, Communication and Innovation Simon Kofe and delegation May 11 in Taipei City, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The delegation visited Taiwan May 10-14 and the two sides exchanged views on issues including environmental sustainability and tourism.
Lin noted that Taiwan and Tuvalu have long collaborated in digital governance, education, energy, medicine and information and communications technology while assisting each other in addressing climate challenges. He pledged to continue integrating public-private resources to deepen partnerships and facilitate well-being on both sides.
Expressing gratitude to Taiwan for its long-term support for Tuvalu’s national development, Kofe emphasized that Tuvalu will continue working with Taiwan in many sectors. The delegation itinerary included visits to government ministries, as well as clean energy and construction businesses as part of the Diplomatic Allies Prosperity project, the MOFA stated. (POC-E)
