The Ministry of Economic Affairs organized a talent recruitment delegation to visit Malaysia June 27-29 as part of government measures to help Taiwanese firms expand their global presence.

The online job-matching website Contact Taiwan was created in 2016 to connect domestic firms and overseas professionals through talent recruitment events at home and abroad, the MOEA’s Department of Investment Promotion said.

According to the MOEA, the delegation, comprising 21 major domestic firms with more than 500 job openings, took part in the National Career Fair held June 27-28 in Kuala Lumpur. The delegation also staged a campus recruitment event at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman.

Spanning the biotechnology, chemical materials, precision machinery and semiconductor sectors, the firms included Phison Electronics Corp., Realtek Semiconductor Corp. and Hiwin Mikrosystem Corp.

The ministry said 1,058 and 287 matching sessions were held during the two-day career fair and campus event, respectively, adding that it expected to see around 105 successful matches.

Given its advanced higher education system, Malaysia is known for cultivating multilingual and cross-cultural professionals in electronics, engineering, information technology and business management, the MOEA said. The two events were a great success in helping domestic firms expand their talent pool, the ministry added. (SFC-E)
