The U.S. Business Day 2026 took place Oct. 13 in Taipei City to assist Taiwanese and U.S. firms to expand cooperation and market presence, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Organized by the ministry, Taiwan External Trade Development Council, American Institute in Taiwan and American State Offices Association, the event featured business matching sessions between 13 major buyers from the U.S. and local firms.
According to the MOEA, state representatives from Texas, Illinois and Montana also introduced their respective investment environments and industry developments.
Among potential partners, Agility Robotics is the first humanoid robotics company in the world that has an estimated value exceeding US$1 billion. AR is looking for supply chain partners from Taiwan’s smart factory and automation sectors, the ministry stated.
William Liu, director general of the MOEA’s International Trade Administration, said Taiwan and the U.S. share highly complementary industry strengths. The U.S. Business Day initiative helps promote bilateral cooperation through connecting U.S. buyers with Taiwanese suppliers and helping local firms better understand U.S. market needs, he added.
Statistics show that Taiwan-U.S. trade relations have continued to make strides in recent years, with the U.S. becoming Taiwan’s leading trade partner in 2025, while Taiwan is the fourth largest trade partner of the U.S. (SFC-E)
