According to the MOE, the group is led by Education Minister Cheng Ying-yao and comprises officials and representatives from 20 domestic tertiary institutions. Cheng is the first education minister from Taiwan to attend the event in nearly two decades.
Hailed as the largest and most dynamic international education gathering, the 2026 NAFSA event is themed “Global by Design” and features exhibition booths by 292 organizations from around the world, the ministry said.
Themed “Study in Taiwan,” the Taiwan Pavilion’s design spotlights the country’s status as a technology hub and showcases its strengths in semiconductors and information and communications technologies.
During the pavilion’s opening ceremony, Cheng said the fifth dialogue held in January this year under the Taiwan-U.S. Education Initiative established a three-year strategy for bilateral education and research cooperation.
