A delegation from Taiwan attended the 2026 VivaTech June 17-20 in Paris, underscoring the country’s achievements in promoting smart living.

The delegation was organized by the National Science Technology Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration and Department of Industrial Technology. It comprised 34 startups and 61 supply chain enterprises, the majority of which are Taiwan Tech Arena members, the NSTC said.

According to the NSTC, the Taiwan pavilion’s launch June 17 was attended by Hao Pei-chih, head of the Taipei Representative Office in France; Lin Der-sheng, director general of the council’s Department of Academia-Industry Collaboration and Science Park Affairs; TTA CEO Benson Chen; Julie Lamandé, VivaTech head of Global Partnerships and Public Affairs; and representatives from Canada, the Netherlands, the U.K. and the U.S.

Themed “AI Taiwan,” the booth showcased how artificial intelligence has been incorporated into daily life and industry as part of efforts to promote Taiwan’s key role in the global AI supply chain, the council said.

Speaking at the pavilion’s opening ceremony, Lin noted that since its launch in 2007, TTA has helped nearly 200 startups successfully land international orders worth NT$1.3 billion (US$41.1 million) through the annual event in France, with last year’s participation resulting in orders worth NT$800 million.

The Tech for Change Award, established by the event organizer to recognize innovation in environmental, health and social issues, honored 400 companies this year for developing technological solutions to global challenges. Seven Taiwanese companies were among the recipients, including Taichung City-headquartered Apollo Power Co., Taipei City-based DeCloak Intelligences Co. and LEDlas Corp. in Hsinchu City, the NSTC said.
