Speaking at the event, Hsiao highlighted how Taiwan’s advantages in advanced manufacturing, precision machinery and semiconductors are expediting domestic drone development.
Following Hsiao’s remarks, Lin said that drone diplomacy is a key plank in President Lai Ching-te’s Five Trusted Industry Sectors Promotion Plan. The foreign minister added that a drone diplomacy task force was set up in October 2025, and he anticipated that the newly inaugurated GUAVA would collaborate with the government to further advance the sector.
