The 10th edition of the Taiwan Thailand Industrial Collaboration Summit was held Aug. 18 in Taipei City, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Industry Development Administration.

Organized by the Taipei-based Chinese National Federation of Industries, Federation of Thai Industries, Food Industry Research and Development Institute in Hsinchu City and National Food Institute in Bangkok, the event drew over 200 industry representatives from the two sides, the IDA said.

CNFI Vice Chair Chen Chin-tsai, FTI Vice Chair Veerachai Monsintorn, IDA Deputy Director General Chen Kuo-hsuan and Thailand Trade and Economic Office Executive Director Narong Boonsatheanwong delivered remarks at the opening ceremony, the administration added.

The summit continues to serve as a major platform for industry dialogues and has generated diverse cooperative opportunities over the last 10 years, the administration said. Discussions at this year’s event centered on smart cities, smart automobiles, smart health and smart information and communications technologies, it added.

Four memorandums of understanding were also signed. Among them was an agreement to promote artificial intelligence applications and digital transition between Taipei-based JustXtar Co. and Bangkok-headquartered Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association, as well as a data analysis cooperation pact between Datayoo Application Co. in Taipei and IFLOWDEV in Bangkok.

The two sides have highly complementary strengths, with Thailand actively advancing green transition and smart technology and expanding investment in biotechnology, digital economy and electric vehicles in recent years, and Taiwan excelling in advanced manufacturing and technological innovation, the IDA concluded.
