Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Ger Bau-shuan gave a reception for a delegation from diplomatic ally, Tuvalu, led by Minister for Education and Human Resources Development Hamoa Holona, July 17 in Taipei City.
The MOFA said that Holona’s visit sought to deepen cooperation in personnel training, adding that the accompanying delegation included Leilani Saitala, MEHRD deputy secretary.
Ger noted that under the MOFA Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project and the Kaitasi Treaty signed last November, the MOFA has actively formulated a new plan encompassing economic and trade exchange to assist sustainable development. Holona thanked Taiwan for the plan and for provision of scholarships and training opportunities, effectively upgrading Tuvalu’s societal resilience.
The delegation also visited the Ministry of Sports and academic institutions attended by Tuvalu students for discussions on items including sports development, the ministry added. Under the MOFA’s integrated diplomacy initiative, bilateral collaboration with ally Tuvalu has yielded substantive results, jointly advancing mutual prosperity. (POC-E)
