Center to move SC against the order of releasing convicts of Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination

Union government to move Supreme Court against the order of Apex Court of releasing six convicts of Rajiv Gandhi assassination.

PM Narendra Modi led government led has decided that the order granting remission to the convicts was passed without affording it an adequate opportunity for hearing despite it being a necessary party to the case.

The said review petition contains, “Granting remission to terrorist of foreign nation, who had been duly convicted in accordance with the law of land for gruesome offence of assassinating the former Prime Minister of the Country, is a matter which has international ramification and therefore falls squarely within the sovereign powers of the Union of India.”

Therefore, this notion and move by Union Government indicate that the government is serious about national matters irrespective political ideologies and other differences.
