A CRIME wave sweeping the UK will be at the heart of ITV’s latest thriller.
The broadcaster have commissioned the new show, titled Out There, which will tell the story of a quiet countryside town turned upside down by county lines drug dealers.

The drama will feature Men Behaving Badly star Martin Clunes as farmer Nathan Williams, who is forced to confront the dark forces sweeping the rural community.
He fights back against threatening drug lords to prevent son Johnny, played by Louis Ashbourne Serkis, from joining the ever-growing gang.
The series was written by Ed Whitmore and Marc Evans , who were behind Martin’s previous gritty role as a policeman in drama Manhunt.
Martin said: “I’m very happy to be working with Marc Evans and Ed Whitmore again after the success of Manhunt.
“Out There couldn’t be more different from Doc Martin. It’s pretty dark, but definitely a story worth telling.”
While writer Ed added: “County lines is a particularly vicious and ruthless wave of drug dealing that uses fear and violence to coerce, often vulnerable, young people into working as runners and dealers.
“It has become a serious and rapidly increasing problem across the whole of the UK, so it felt like an important and timely story to tell.
“I’ve always been fascinated by the notion of things being hidden in plain sight and the way in which different social worlds can co-exist cheek-by-jowl until, one day, they collide.
“The fundamental premise of Out There – a widowed farmer who discovers that his son has fallen foul of county lines – immediately spoke to me as a story I wanted to tell.”
Filming for the new drama has just begun in Wales.
Martin recently starred in fellow ITV drama Manhunt, which saw his portray DCI Colin Sutton – a London inspector looking into the death of Amelie Delegrange.
The true story was based on the memoirs of the real detective, who was brought in to track serial killer Levi Bellfield.
It comes after Martin’s long-running show Doc Martin came to an end last autumn following 18 years of episodes.

The movie starred Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise as vampires Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat de Lioncourt.
Now, the raunchy drama of love, blood and immortality is a big hit all over again.
The seven-part drama, shown in the US last year, stars Game Of Thrones Jacob Anderson as du Lac and The Newsreader’s Sam Reid plays Lestat.
Avatar: Way of Water’s Baily Bass and Eric Bogosian complete the line-up.
Jones flyin’ vigil
AS Amy Silva in the first series of Vigil, Suranne Jones had a tough time trying to stay alive trapped on a submarine with a bunch of killers.
And it looks like she’s in for another rough ride – judging by the verylarge gash on her face in these pictures from the new series.
The sequel sees the detective infiltrating the secret world of drone warfare alongside Rose Leslie’s Kirsten Longacre, as they investigate a string of unexplained deaths in the RAF.
Gary Lewis also returns as detective superintendent Colin Robertson and they will be joined by nine new cast members, including Dougray Scott and Romola Garai.
The second series of Vigil will air on BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
Tom: Son swerves my grub
JUST because Tom Kerridge is a Michelin-starred chef doesn’t mean his son likes his food.
The telly cook, who recently starred in BBC documentary series The Hidden World Of Hospitality, says seven-year-old Acey refuses to eat his creations.
He told Radio 2: “It doesn’t matter who your dad is, trying to get a kid to eat vegetables is very, very difficult . . .
“At first I was trying to give him lots of different types of food, chef stuff, but he just didn’t go for it. I tried all sorts, different kinds of layers of spice and seasoning and flavours, but kids just like beige, don’t they?
“It still hurts. I was like, ‘Mate, I’ve got two Michelin stars! No one in my restaurant goes ‘urgh!’ but you’re doing it’.”
The Hidden World Of Hospitality With Tom Kerridge reveals what life is really like in all sectors of the industry.
The eight-part series can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
