The Oct. 17-24 visit by a seven-member Marshall Islands delegation led by Natural Resources and Commerce Minister Anthony Muller and Mrs. Muller is sincerely welcomed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the MOFA, during his stay, Muller will take part in the joint committee meeting of the Taiwan-Marshall Islands Economic Cooperation Agreement to discuss ways to expand trade relations, enhance investment and promote industry cooperation.

The minister’s itinerary also includes visiting the Ministry of Agriculture and the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) to better understand Taiwan’s smart agricultural systems; attending a banquet hosted by Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung; and leading the delegation to the Kaohsiung Food Show taking place Oct. 22-25.

The MOFA said Taiwan and the Marshall Islands have maintained close cooperation in sectors spanning agriculture, fisheries, medical care and health, education, economic resilience and infrastructure over an extended period of time.

An example of the positive relationship is the visit by Foreign Minister Lin as head of a trade delegation to the Pacific ally in April this year, the MOFA said, adding that during the trip both sides reached consensus on ways to deepen trade exchange and industrial partnership.

In line with the integrated diplomacy approach and the Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project, the Taiwan government will continue to expand trade, investment and industry exchange with the Marshall Islands to help strengthen economic resilience and ensure sustainable development and mutual prosperity for both countries, the ministry added.
