The Ministry of Interior National Immigration Agency organized a Career Switch Station activity for second generation immigrants to Taiwan. The summer vacation program assists youth to explore possible careers and self-development.
The NIA has coordinated three on-site visits to domestic companies including Taipei City’s information technology firm, Systex Corporation; cycle designer and manufacturer Giant’s Cycling Culture Museum in Taichung City; and the Chimei Happiness Factory in Tainan City.
The NIA initiative seeks to help second generation immigrants to leverage their language skills and cultural insight to positively contribute to the country’s diversified development. Participants from Africa, China, France, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, the U.S., the Philippines and Vietnam are taking part.
The activities offer young people a deeper understanding of various industries through hands-on experience and also enhance their communication and cooperation skills. (POC-E)
