The Ministry of Sports signed a memorandum of understanding with the U.S. University of Southern California via video July 29 to cooperate in cultivation of sports professionals with an international perspective.
 
Minister of Sports Lee Yang witnessed signatures by Political Deputy Minister Huang Chi-huang and International Affairs Director-General Chang Chin-wang. For the U.S. side, USC Vice President for Global and Online Initiatives Anthony Bailey and Executive Director of the USC American Language Institute Agnieszka Gniewek-Paul signed the MOU.
 
Minister Lee noted that the MOU enables young Taiwan athletes to gain a wider platform for international exchange. He said that it marks the start of cooperation to establish a long-term partnership that will enrich Taiwan's sports community and enhance its international competitiveness.
 
The U.S. facility is part the National Collegiate Athletic Association and specializes in competitive sports development, sports management and sports science. The MOU demonstrates a shared vision of deepening exchanges and cooperation to leverage a long-term strategic partnership aligning with top international sports education concepts, training models, and management experience.
 
Bailey invited Lee in his capacity as a former Olympic badminton gold medalist, to act as commentator at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics badminton tournament which takes place at USC. (POC-E)
